In autumn 2003 we spend some days on the German island Rügen. For Kite Aerial Photography I used my Canon A70 with the KAP-Rig # 5 and my Flow-Form kites. On that island there are a lot of KAP - motives so that I still will make some photos there.

The area around Kap Arkona is car-free zone. So we have parked our car in Puttgarten on a parking place and have run the way to the kap by feet. Before we arrived the Kap with the two lighthouses, there are big fields on the left and on the right of the way. On the left side, nearby the lighthouses, I have started the kite. After the start I have walked more nearly to the lighthouses to be able to make pictures from the proximity.

I have liftet the kite and had the feeling to be with the camera on the height of the lamp head of the big tower. I was, however, already higher and quite a number of photos are photographed over this. I wanted to leave the kite even higher and walk more nearly to the towers to take some photograph from above. Suddenly I noticed that the Rig didn't obeyed my orders. At first I thought of a mechanical problem, then however of empty receiver accumulators. I pulled in the kite and it turned out that the accumulators were really empty.

This was my second start on this day and it was the first KAP day of our holiday. The accumulator was loaded approx. 1 month ago and was empty much to early. So I couldn't take a lot of pictures of Kap Arkona and the the little place Vitt from the air any more.

Links to other KAPers and more you can find in my Surfers Guide.

I like to be available for questions, suggestions or experience exchange.

I would be very pleased about an entry in my visitor's book.
