Once a location of the industry with workplaces for many hundred people. Today a landscape park made for leisure time and culture. The former steelworks direct at the freeway A42 in the Duisburg North.

Here you can simply recover, go for a walk and be amazed of the industry, take a look behind the scenes of the once high industry walls....

The former steelworks, where they melted in the time of 1903 to 1985 about 37 million tons of iron, at first should be broken off and the area leveled. But citizen protests prevented the demolition of the plant. Since then the Landscape Park "Duisburg North" arose as a project of the international making exhibition "Emscher park (IBA)". All areas and parts of the industry location can be inspected and understood now.

First start: On the place behind the ore bunkers, direct at the clarification basins
First start:
On the free area behind the ore bunkers the wind blew so weakly that I wanted already to give up after several starts. I then still have got the kite in a higher height anyway and it came pull onto the kiteline so that I could hang the camera into the line.

Second start: Below the warm up hall, behind the double pipeline shortly before sundown.

Second start:
Behind the double pipeline there was still few wind at sunset and I was surprised that the kite has gone into the air at all. As I wanted to give kiteline with the rig at the line, there was no pull at the line. However, patience just pays off and a little wind was then available anyway and I could quite slowly slowly give line. I was afraid that the sun would go down, before I had made the first aerial pictures already.

The color of the rust of the old plant is strengthened once again by the red light of the setting sun.
