At one time in the year, a short time bevor the sommer holyday, there ist the biggest (??) Kiteflyersmeeting of the world at the Danish island FANO. Thausends of kite-freaks are there, to get a special kite-feeling. The biggest kites you can look for, are out of many hundrets m² of spinackernylon. They often can only been flyn by a kit-team. They use a car, an excavator, ore a truck as an anchor.

Bert is crashing Bert in the wind Hallo

"Bert" wold not fly very good at this day. The kite-pilots have had big trouble to get him in the air. At the left picture you can get a impressin about the enormous size of this kite.

The Janosch Tiger von A.Jähnke The whale with it´s kite-team Wahle with baby in the air

The "Janosch Tiger" is only one from several kite - sculptures, which are build by Andreas Jähnke from Giesen, Germany. He also build the "Whale" and "Flitze Feuerzahn", a dragonkite. Andreas is flying his kites with a small team of 3 - 4 persons. All the kites at this pictures are two-liners. They wind the main-kiteline of the sculptures in the form of a big triangle over two roles. The roles are fixed on two big ground-anchors. So Andreas can control the kite alone after the start and hold them in the wind.

caravans are smal!

The biggest Windturbine, whitch we have seen, was liftet by a big parafoil. That parafoil has an area of 150m². They use an excavator for anchor. You can estimate the size, when you see the caravan in front of the windturbine.

Starfishes, Windturbine and "Monsters" in different sizes and colors.
