The beginnings of the coal mine Consolidation 3/4/9 was in
the year 1871. The pit, which simply was called "Consol" by the miners,
was one of the large coal mine plants in the Ruhrgbiet for long time. The pit
Consolidation in Gelsenkirchen Bismarck was closed in 1994 and the shaft was
filled some years later.
Some buildings have been left, primarily the big double winding tower over shaft 9 with the two houses for the winding mashines and a part of the hanging bank with the tub circuit. |

With my new Nikon Fisheye I have done some aerial pictures too. From such a 180 degree picture one can make a so called bubble pano. It looks like the viewer is in the middle of a bubble and can view in all directions. You need Apple Quicktime (R) for viewing. |
Links to other KAPers and more you can find in my Surfers Guide.
I like to be available for questions, suggestions or experience exchange.
I would be very pleased about an entry in my visitor's book.
